Many of us are taught to never talk about politics or religion. The result? Many of us never really learned how to talk about complex, charged & challenging topics, especially with friends & family. In a time of growing polarization and disconnection, learning how to talk about what truly matters isn’t just important; it’s essential.
In this interactive 3-hour workshop, you will learn practical tools for having meaningful & respectful conversations around charged topics. Whether you’ve struggled with tense family dinners, avoided political discussions with friends, or felt stuck in workplace dynamics, this community gathering & communications workshop will help you feel more confident, grounded & connected in charged dialogue.
In this workshop, you'll:
-
Learn skills for civil conversations
-
Gain tools to manage emotional triggers in tough conversations
-
Practice active listening, empathy & respectful engagement
-
Engage in real conversation in small group breakout rooms
-
Receive support from a thoughtful, facilitated community
Facilitated by Tamara Sherwood, a coach specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution with Restorative Justice and Raven Shree, a seasoned community facilitator, this gathering offers a supportive & courageous space to engage in meaningful dialogue & practice your communication skills.

Together, we’ll practice finding & sharing our voices with clarity and compassion and explore ways to stay in relationship across differences of belief and opinion. During these times when division runs deep, this workshop invites us to bridge the gaps in our community with empathy, presence & skillful communication.

Our goal isn’t agreement; it’s understanding. When we expand our capacity to listen & speak with ears of the heart, we can begin to build bridges across chasms of opposition, fear, hatred, and disconnection.

Now more than ever, we need the courage and capacity to use communication as a bridge, not a barrier. This is your invitation to meet the moment with clarity, compassion & connection.

Message from Wild Soul Wanderings
How This Workshop Came to Be

My dear friend Tamara has been doing restorative justice work within the court & school systems for decades. I encouraged her to bring her work into the private sector & into the circles of everyday civilians, and that is what lead to this collaboration.
These times are calling for deeper communication skills, within our families, our schools, our communities & the wider world. We are being asked to show up with more courage, more clarity & more compassion. I am honored to have a platform with Wild Soul Wanderings to support this wider work in the world.
We invite you into our safe & shared community circle, where you will be gently guided in applying communication tools in charged & challenging conversations, a skill we all need some practice in these days. We hope you’ll join us.
